Summary of the Forbes article

Over the past decade scientists worldwide have performed over 1,700 studies to evaluate safety and environmental impact of GMOs. However, this research has not always been easy to find – until now.

For the first time ever, the abundance of research on genetically modified crops has been catalogued in one easily accessible place, thanks to a team of Italian scientists who believed there was an information gap when it came to the subject of GMOs.

Contrary to popular arguments claiming that GMOs are understudied, the report finds that there is not a single credible example demonstrating that GM foods pose any harm to humans, animals or the environment.

You can read the research for yourself in Critical Reviews in Biotechnology. The studies reviewed are expected to become a part of GENERA, Biofortified’s public database of research on GMOs.
