We posed this question to some professors at BestFoodFacts.org. Check out what they have to say: http://www.bestfoodfacts.org/main/food_for_thought/0/64

This question fails the logic test. It embeds a logical fallacy, 'begging the question,' in order to simply state its own answer in the question. ''Why can't organic be used..." presupposes that it's already known that organic cannot be used, and we simply want to know why.

By definition, any farming approach, organic or exploitative (aka 'conventional'), can be used anywhere. The difference is how well the chosen system sustains the ecosystem and a socially equitable human community.

I'm concerned that this biased question will suggest that USFRA is attempting to mislead readers into thinking that the poor performance of conventional U.S. farming is the best Americans can do.

The question should be reframed as:
''What must change for all ag food production farms to use organic approaches?''
The answers to that would be constructive. They would highlight specific problems to be solved.
